A community-based initiative focused on strengthening child protection systems, promoting child rights awareness, and empowering children through leadership and advocacy platforms.
In partnership with Child Aid (ACA) Denmark and CECOWOR, Hope Ever Foundation implemented a 24-month project focused on raising awareness about child rights and strengthening protective mechanisms for children in rural Tamil Nadu.
The initiative aimed to empower children, families, schools, and local communities through awareness camps, workshops, and structured community engagement activities.
One of the major components of the project was the establishment of Child Rights Clubs (CRCs) in schools and villages. These clubs became important platforms for educating children about their rights, developing leadership skills, and encouraging participation in advocacy and decision-making processes.
The project also focused on strengthening community accountability systems by training teachers, local leaders, and government officials on their responsibilities in preventing child labor, child marriage, abuse, and neglect.
Capacity-building sessions sensitized stakeholders and promoted safer, more child-friendly environments within schools and communities.
Child Rights Clubs were successfully established in 50 villages, contributing to improved reporting mechanisms and stronger community response systems for child rights violations.
Through continuous awareness, advocacy, and community participation, the initiative fostered a lasting culture of child protection and embedded child rights into local development processes.
